Hi All,

ArcGIS enterprise version: 10.9.1

We are using ArcGIS Workflow Manager Server (service-driven). We have create a simple workflow diagram to send email with attachments.

We have chosen "File Path" option under "Linked in "Add Attachment" step.

While sending email WFM is not attaching files from the above given "File Path".

"Send Email" step is able to attach files which are embedded only. (which are manually browse/added using "Add Attachment" step).

Is this the actual behavior or we miss anything here?

@JFarmer  Please suggest.

If it is the actual behavior, it is nice to have the following feature.

----------------------- ----------------------- ----------------------- -----------------------

Our requirement is to execute job daily and send email with the attachments (from the predefine local path, not just embedded attachments)

Our requirement example:

1) we have created a setting under "User defined setting"

attachments_path.jpg

OR

Having an option in "Send Email" step

2) While sending email using "Send Email" step, it should attach files from this path.

Thanks.

Regards,

Sirish

Hi @SirishByreddy

The behavior you are seeing is correct. Embedded attachments do require a user to choose an attachment from a prompt to then attach to a job. The Send Email step can then send those attachments because they are attached to the job and stored in our system tables.

By contrast, the Linked attachment option only allows you to link a location to the job, whether a file path or URL, etc. But there is no ability for the Send Email step (or any step) to then reach into that location, pull files out, and use them as part of the job.

I've noted the enhancement request here, thanks for mentioning it. We'll certainly consider it for the future.
