Web Editor: Supported / Unsupported Functionality

Hello,

Is there a comprehensive listing or matrix showing which functionality is supported and unsupported for Web Editor? Hopefully there is and it is categorized by web services that are provided by AGOL or ArcGIS Server.

This question came up since it appears that Web Editor does not support relationships, at least when used with an ArcGIS Server feature service. I found this out yesterday but could not find any documentation stating this.

Example questions (not meaning to be thorough, only examples):

  • Does it support global ID based relationships when used with AGOL? With ArcGIS Server?
  • Does it support attachments to feature classes when used with AGOL? With ArcGIS Server?
  • Does it support attachments to tables when used with AGOL? With ArcGIS Server?
  • Does it support attribute rules when used with ArcGIS Server?
  • What are the supported versions of ArcGIS Server?

This is all I found in the current documentation about what's supported:

@PaulLohr The Web Editor supports everything that you can do in Map Viewer using the edit widget in Online; so Attachments and GlobalID based relationships are supported, although the later will need to have a related record form element added to the form prior to it appearing.  There are issues with attachments when the feature service doesn't support globalIDs but those are being worked on for the next release.

What version of ArcGIS Server are you using and how are those services exposed in online?

Thanks for your help, Craig.

Server version 10.7.1.

Web services are stored as proxy items in AGOL so the user doesn't have to log in for a second time.

Assuming the "related record form element" had to be created in Map Viewer, I tried to do that. Documentation for Map Viewer says it only works for hosted content. So this won't work since we are using ArcGIS Server.

Would it be correct to say that relationships are supported in Web Editor and Map Viewer only for hosted content?

Hi @PaulLohr

Would it be correct to say that relationships are supported in Web Editor and Map Viewer only for hosted content?

This appears to be a regression, we're looking into it.  You should be able to author related record form elements in the scenario you mention where, the web map is in Online and the feature layer references a service.

We're just starting to investigate this, but this won't be something that can be addressed until the October release, if it is shown to be a regression.
