Hello,
I have a Web App Builder Map with Smart Editor Widget configured.
The hosted feature layer in the map is a point layer. In the point layer, there are points that are stacked on top of each other, and some with single points.
When we select one of the stacked points, Smart Editor selects all of the points that are stacked on top of each other. We have "Edit Geometry" enabled by default, and when we try to edit the geometry of one of these stacked points, we cannot. The stacked point selection turns yellow - see attachment 1. However when we select single points, the selection turns blue and we can edit the geometry - see attachment 2.
Question 1: is there a setting we can choose to unselect points in the stacked selection, like "remove from selection" or "unselect"?
Question 2: is there an overall setting that we are missing in the General Settings tab of Smart Editor?
thank you for your help.
@JoshConrad1 This is a bug in the Smart Editor widget. While our development resources are now minimal for Web AppBuilder, we'll see if we have the capacity to fix this for this fall.
@JoshConrad1 Just wanted to provide an update on this. We will not be making any new changes to the current behavior at this point.
Some workarounds would be:
Thank you for following up with this.
It is unfortunate that no further enhancements will be incorporated into the Smart Editor Widget. We like the forced required fields functionality that Smart Editor offers, however our need for selecting stacked features is more critical than the need for required fields at this point in time.
We ended up moving away from Smart Editor and implemented the general Editing widget. We are now able to use the selection pointer to select a group of features stacked on top of each other and through the popup window, sift through the multiple selected features until we get to the feature we need to move.
If this selection pointer was built into the Smart Editor widget, that would solve the issue, but I understand that ESRI is planning on pivoting all workflows to Experience Builder.
Thank you again for your time, it is really appreciated.
