The drawing widget in Web AppBuilder currently allows a user to make a drawing an operational layer in the map, so other tools can act against the drawings. However, a number of clients have requested the following functionality
- Persist the drawing between sessions,
- the ability to send a session drawing to another user to present their ideas or markup
- save the drawing as .shp, .kml or other GIS format
