How to enable selection of features? There is a selection button in the viewer's main toolbar but it is grayed out at the client machine, and can't be activated in the site configuration at the production machine.
the tool is only available when you have added a feature layer in viewer. The individual layers within a service and not the complete service (this is a map service). You will recognise the layer because the attribute table has values in it
