Hi,
The Swipe/Spotlight widget by Robert Scheitlin does not populate the Active Layers drop down on our live site. It works great in the development environment just not on the live site. Any suggestions why? Please help.
Thank you,
Billy

George,

Actually I found that this is the widget that you were looking for:

Thanks Robert,

Unfortunately neither of these developers seem to be maintaining their widgets.  Have you created a Screen Shot type widget before?  How hard would it be up update these into Flex 3.1?

I'm trying to get a collection of tools, print, export, and screen shot for my latest web map application.  There seems to be some good ones out there, but they were primarily built for the older versions.

Rob, while we are on the topic, I know we are probably not on the correct thread, but with your exportMap widget, is there a way to bypass the secondary icon that pops up and has to be click on to initiate the export?

Is there a way to set it up so that clicking the original link initiates it or does that have to be in the active data frame?

Thanks for all your hard work.

George,

Sure if you add it to the UI elements section of the main config.xml then you will not get that. I need to add that to the ReadMe.txt (thought I already had that bit of instruction in there).

All,

There is an exciting new version of the widget available:

Version 3.6.1 - Feb 18, 2014
*  Added support for freezing the swipe or spotlight mask. What this means  is can let go of the mouse during a swipe or spotlight and the mask  will remain frozen on the screen until you click again or press the esc  button on the keyboard.
* Added the diagonalswipeenabled tag in the xml.
* Added the freezelayermask tag to the xml. This sets the checkbox on the Swipe widget GUI to true or false.
*  Added support for multiple layers added to the map using the same  label. This mean you can swipe or spotlight basemaps with reference  layers and operational layers that have the same label for multiple  layers.
* Redesigned the GUI to allow selecting the top and the  bottom layer for the swipe or spotlight operations. Setting the layer in  the top and bottom drop down lists will move that layer to the top or  the bottom of the map respectively.
* When the widget is opened the  order and visibility of all map layers are recorded and when the widget  is closed they are reset to this original order/visibility.
* Depreciated the askaboutturningonlayer tag as now layers are set to visible by default when chosen in the top or bottom layer.
