Can the Print Widget be configured to only show the Map Layers in the seen a current view of the Map Viewer?

At the moment it seems to show ALL the layers in the Map Viewer even if the layers do not appear in the current view.

Also, is there a way to "customize" the legend appearance?

I have uploaded a screenshot which will explain better what I am asking. Note I blacked out the map on purpose.

Look at the LEGEND. I have 2 Layers showing in the Map Service (Flex 3.6 and ArcGIS Server 10.2.1): Valves and Pipes. The Valves show up good since there are only 7 types (count them, there are 7 in the LEGEND); but the Pipes of which there are 62 types do not show up at all. Could it be that there are too many Pipe Types to show up in the LEGEND? Also, is there a way to make the Print Widget only show those Pipes and Valves that appear in the current view of the Map Viewer when exported to a PDF?

Look at the SCALE. I think the only way to change the units is to alter the source code and re-compile using Adobe Flash 4.6 or 4.7. Correct?

You can create your own Template MXDs to use for the Print Service. You'll be able to configure the Legend however you'd like.
