Any ideas why this won't work?  It does bring up some layer names and such in the TOC but no info will appear on the map...

<layer label="marine traffic" type="kml" visible="false"
                   url="http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ge_marinetraffic.kml"/>

I'm using FV 2.5...and my web server is setup for kml/kmz mime types...

Thanks!

Thanks for the info Robert.

So arcgis.com was creating the features. And if we can host the util/server ourselves, we can increase the limit, maybe?

GET http://utility.arcgis.com/sharing/kml?url=http%3A%2F%2Fhobbsnmgis%2Ecom%2FArcGIS%2Fkml%2F1testMarine...
200 OK (text/plain)

{"error":{"code":400,"message":"The KML file is too large. Its 24659258 bytes exceed the allowable maximum of 10485760 bytes.","details":[null]}}

I would stay clear of KML Network until this bug gets fixed:

Do you have any idea what this means? :

serviceurl??Optional, URL to your own utility service for converting KML files to features. [Added in version 2.5]

It's referring to the KML utility that converts the KML feed to a feature layer.  This utility service is part of ArcGIS Portal. If you have ArcGIS Portal, you can use its utility service instead of the one on ArcGIS.com.
