Label/Annotation Fonts

All,

I'm trying to find a legible font to use for labels and/or annotation over aerial imagery. I've tried several different fonts at this point. They are legible over the Topo and Bing Road backgrounds I'm using, but not over aerial imagery.

I've tried using labels that were published within the .mxd (created service is 'dynamic', not 'feature') and I've also created an annotation layer to see if that helped resolve the issue.

Can anyone provide suggestions on what to use or try?

Thanks in advance!

I agree with Sol, but sometimes I also use yellow for my text on imagery as it seems to be the most visible.  I haven't played with font changes much though.

I've tried a few different things to remove the white edging I was seeing around my black labels.

Actually just found this thread in the silverlight forum which helped a lot: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/16336-White-color-around-edges-of-labels-in-map-services

I ended up setting the text anti-aliasing property to none, which removed the white edging that was appearing.
