Edit Widget - excluding attributes

Is there a way to exclude attributes in layers that are editable?  I only want select fields in a layer to be editable, not all of them - is that possible?

Jon,

   Sure when you publish your FeatureService you can mark certain fields in a layer as read-only in the MXD and that caries over to the FeatureService.

Don't forget to click the top arrow (promote) and to click the Mark as answer check as shown below:
