Good day,

I am trying to install Viewer for Flex but am running into problems.

I have downloaded Adobe Air and have turned on the Windows IIS on my laptop.
I am the only user and administrator.

When the Application Builder opens for the first time the Settings window pops up and when saving the default location for Web
Server Base Folder and Base Folder URL, I get the following error: Cannot create C:\inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers!

What could prevent me from creating the Web Server Base Folders?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Erik

Erik,

The answer is simple you have to right click the App Builder shortcut and on the context menu that appears choose to "Run as administrator". The reason for this is any user or application that attempts to write to the inetpub folder has to have elevated permissions to do so in Windows 7.

Did you try right clicking and run as administrator?

First I would navigate to C:\inetpub\wwwroot with windows explorer and see, first, if it exists, and second, if you can create a folder here with windows.  If not, would be a permission issue.

Fantastic, it works!

Thanks for your help jjluke.

I would have never thought of doing that. I did notice how in the control panel I see a "user" with my name that has normal
permission and another user again with my name with admin permission.

I will have to figure out how to change the permission for the non-admin user. I tried but could not do it.

Thanks again.

Thanks for your help rzufelt,

I tried what you suggested and was able to create a folder.

That being said it seems you are correct in thinking the problem is related to permissions. More research for me to do...
