Can I change road shields based on type of road?

First off let me say this tool editor is great and I find it very useful. 

I was just wondering if I could change the shield on county roads to be different than major roads? In the image below you can see that Highway 6 and County Roads 17 and 170 have the same shield, I would like them to be different.

You need an attribute that designates what class or type of road it is. Then you can go to the labels tab under the layer properties, and change the METHOD to "Define Classes of Features and label each class differently". Next create a CLASS for each road type, set the SQL Query appropriately, choose the label field, and choose the symbol you want to use for each class created.
