Unable to add junction object as controller when using a subtype group table

In ArcGIS Pro, you can transform a junction object into a subnetwork controller by selecting a row in the xxxJunctionObject table and adding that selection to the "Edit Subnetwork Controller" panel.

However, I've found that this doesn't work when I select the row in the same table opened as a subtype group table. The panel doesn't seem to recognize the selection.

Has anyone else encountered this issue ?
