Hi,

We have noticed that probably since the last Urban update, the buildings in projects scenarios are not toggled off when switching scenarios. This behaviour can sometimes make it impossible to see the current scenario building because it looks like it is merged within the building from the previous scenario.

It might be a good idea to be able to see many scenarios simultaneously but making it the default behaviour is not ideal according to our point of view.

Is this behaviour normal?

We also noticed that the projects scenarios buildings stay visible even when we quit the project... that's not ideal neither according to us.

Thank you for your return on this!

Hi @MaximeDemers ,

It turned out that the content filtering & add blocking browser extension uBlockOrigin is causing the issue - specifically the filter list "FRA: AdGuard Français".

The filter list "FRA: AdGuard Français" seems to be the only region- and language-specific filter list available in uBlockOrigin that seems to cause issues in Urban.

Controlling what makes it into the lists being leveraged by such content-filtering and add-blocking browser extensions is unfortunately out of our hands. As a workaround, we suggest configuring an exception rule in the uBlockOrigin browser extension.

Hi @MaximeDemers ,

Thanks a lot for your questions.

Re: Visibility of project buildings when switching between scenarios

The buildings that are not toggled off when switching scenarios: did you draw these buildings using the "Buildings" drawing tool in the project editor? Or are your project scenario buildings loaded from a web scene that is configured as scenario design visualization?

To ensure that the project scenario buildings don't clash with the existing buildings in your Urban Model: did you draw a demolition area per scenario in the project editor? Demolition areas are represented by an orange polygon in the 3D map view.

Re: Project scenario buildings stay visible when quitting the project

The scenario buildings that stay visible when quitting the project: are these loaded from a web scene that is configured as scenario design visualization or did you draw these in the project editor?

Buildings drawn in the project editor are expected to be visible when quitting the project if they belong to the topmost scenario in the list of your project's scenarios.

Thanks.

Hi @DominikAllemann , thank you for the quick answer.
The scenario buildings that stay visible when changing scenarios are loaded for a web scene.

In this project , we have 2 scenarios. No existing buildings for this area.

The first scenario is a 12m height building

The second scenario is a 8m height building

But if i switch between those scenarios, we can see the other scenario building.

To make sure that only the 3étages(12m) is the only one visible in this scenario, i have to desactivate the 2étages (8m) building, in the other scenario .

Is it normal that those scenarios are inter-connected ?

Thanks.

Hi @BertrandCzerwinski ,

Thanks for the additional details. Judging based on the screenshots you shared, what you are experiencing indeed seems unexpected.

However, we can't reproduce what you are experiencing with our internal test data. Would it be possible to share the two web scenes with the ArcGIS Online user "urban_zrh_pe"? This would be helpful to sort out whether the issue is triggered by the web scene data or by anything else.

Thanks.

Hello @DominikAllemann ,

We invited you to join our AOL organization "Ville de Sherbrooke". Those scenes (mentionned by @BertrandCzerwinski) were shared with the group you were invited in.

Im not really used to share content with people outside our organization, so please tell me if something is not working.

Also, we could share our Urban model if that may helps you to reproduce the problem.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

I just want to let you know that I have raised an issue at the uBlock filters lists repo and asked for adding an exception for urban.arcgis.com inside the list.
