Anytime I select a building type and select the building or dwelling unit under type, all of the information goes blank as demonstrated in the attached screen recording below:
Because of this, I can never see all of the information for each building type. How can I fix this issue

Thanks for your question! This behavior is expected. A building type can either by of type "Building" or of type "Dwelling Unit". So a building type either has parameters for the first or the second section, but not both. If you switch the type, the settings are reset automatically.
The difference between Building and Dwelling Unit is, that buildings only generate one house on a parcel while dwelling units generate multiple houses. You find more information in our documentation: Work with building types.

Thanks for explaining that. I understand that when working on the type of building it falls within either category but is there a way to stop it from automatically resetting so that I can compare the two options?
Also, can this option of applying multiple building units to parcels with a single residential building type (using the Minimum distance between units and Dwelling units density parameters) somehow be applied to non-residential buildings? It would be helpful if I wanted to, for instance, easily introduce multiple buildings with different non-residential space use types within a parcel.

Since the two options are very different and cannot really be compared, we decided to always reset the settings. Example: While a building can have multiple space use types, both over- and underground, a dwelling unit building type can only have one space use type.
If you would like to compare the two options, with similar settings, I suggest to duplicate the building type and enter similar settings for both types (building vs. dwelling units.

This is a very good question. Unfortunately, this is currently not possible, but we are looking into possibilities to support this in the future.
