In the demo version of ArcUrban with the Boston scene, when switching through the options of Schematic, Realistic, Underground the map’s buildings retain 3D effect through all choices. When using these options on my city (Erie, Pennsylvania) the Schematic option provides 3D buildings, but the Realistic option only provides flat imagery. Is there something that I need to enable or create? I would expect the 3D buildings to populate since they already do in the Schematic version.

Hello! Thanks for your question. By default, your model will be loaded using OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings for the schematic visualization and the light gray canvas for your Basemap. For the realistic visualization, the default setting is no existing building layer, and the Imagery Basemap. There are the default layers and serve as a starting point. There is always the option to swap these out for more detailed layers.

The Boston model, for example, has 3D mesh imagery added. Mesh imagery is something that can be generated or acquired through a provider. You can choose to load the same OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings for your Realistic visualization if you want to maintain some level of 3D visualization, but do not have your own layer to use. For Existing buildings, existing trees, and reality mesh, you just need to have your data stored as an Scene Layer.

I hope this helps and let us know if you have more questions.
