Hi everyone,
we have created a form using the newest version of ArcGIS Survey123 Connect. In this form we implemented a CAPTCHA. After publishing the form, we are opening it via the frontend that comes from the self-hosted Survey123 WebDesigner. While looking at the form, we observed that the CAPTCHA is not visible. Opening the form via the ArcGIS Online frontend and the portalURL-parameter in the url the CAPTCHA setting is taken into account.
So the question is: Isn't the CAPTCHA functionality supported in the self-hosted Survey123 Website frontend?
Unfortunately I can't find any release notes for this.
Best regards
Sven

Hello @Sven_Harpering,
CAPTCHA was introduced in Beta with the 3.16 December update, unfortunately the 3.16 local website installer was released before the December update and does not have support for the feature.
With the 3.17 local website installer that is anticipated in the near future that will have support for the Beta CAPTCHA feature.

@ZacharySutherby, thank you for the information! 🙂
Hello @Sven_Harpering,
I had brought this up with the team and the decision has been made to remove CAPTCHA (beta) from the 3.17 local website installation and is not anticipated in the final release.
There are a few technical reasons it has been removed from the local website install, but one of the major reasons is a disconnect in how we are seeing CAPTCHA used vs how the Survey123 local website is used.
We have seen CAPTCHA used in public surveys to prevent spam submissions, but we have seen the Survey123 local website used internally within organizations. With the local website used within organizations and not with public surveys CAPTCHA doesn't quite make sense.
We wanted to reach out and ask what the use case of CAPTCHA in an internal survey is?
Please feel free to follow up offline if that's preferable, feel free to email me at ZSutherby@esri.com or the Survey123 team alias at survey123@esri.com and we'll be happy to discuss.
Hi @ZacharySutherby,
thanks for the reply. I will send you an email :).

@ZacharySutherby Is the feature CAPTCHA currently available for a public survey through the S123 Connect APP?
Hi @FavaN2021,
yes, the CAPTCHA setting is available:
