Hi! I am designing a survey that intends to afford a participant to return to it at a later time (prior to submission), to complete/revise. If the user closes their browser/browser tab, shuts down their computer, or refreshes their screen, will the survey continue to show their progress the next time they enter the survey URL?
Additionally, can the user return to revise their repossess after they have submitted? or does this have to be down by the admin?
Thank you,
Jen

Hi @JenMcRuer,
I assume you are referring to the web app (and not the field app). If so, you can enable "Draft mode" for the survey via the "Collaborate -> Share survey" options. This will save the draft of the survey locally in the browser cookies, and allow it to be opened and restored at a later date if the browser is closed and re-opened and the same survey accessed. The user will see a message ar the top to let the know the draft was restored, and they have option to reset the survey and lose the saved draft.

However this applies and works only before the survey is submitted, once the survey is submitted you need to use URL parameters to enable editing of existing surveys and open the required record for editing. Refer to following doc and blog for more information on web URL parameters:
Hope this helps. If you are using the field app, surveys can be saved to drafts and edited after being sent without needing to apply any additional settings to the survey. These are standard features in the field app as all surveys are stored locally on the device in the app, making it easier to come back later and edit.

Phil.

Phil,
If I have multiple field app users updating the same database record, and the users are using Drafts, does the data get merged? Does submitting an old Draft overwrite more current data submitted into the database? If so, can I turn off the Draft feature to prevent data loss? Thanks, Dan
