Is there a way to include photos in the pulldata() procedure for Survey 1-2-3? I would like to provide data and photos for our sites so field personnel can verify they are in the correct location.

Hi Cathryn,

There isn't a capability to use reference photos via pulldata().  I can add this as an enhancement; an alternative that we want to support in the future would be to load the photos in via the Inbox (I think this would work better for what you're describing).

Thank you, James. Our program is new to Survey 1-2-3, but we are wading in

and liking it so far. We do field work to measure water levels in wells in

New Mexico and collect equipment data. I provide the locations with

previous water level data and some other reference material. It would be

very helpful to be able to include photos for these locations (usually 2-3)

so field personnel can verify that they are at the right site. Seems like

adding something to the pulldata() procedure would be natural since photos

go in the Media file anyway. I'm not yet familiar with the Inbox.

Thank you,

This youtube tutorial shows how to include images in a choice list. A location photo could be displayed next to each well in the list. You can still use pulldata() to display other information about the selected wells. The downside of this is that you can only include one image per choice.

Or (and this may be too much work depending on how many wells there are) you could have note fields for each well--showing the desired photos--to be displayed via relevant expressions, so that only the selected well's note/photos display to the field personnel.
