Hello Geonet Users,

As mentioned in Survey123 Tricks of the Trade: Groups, Grids and Pages in version 3.13, "...the number of columns used to render the group or repeat within the parent group, it will be one. That is, a group or repeat always takes one single column from the containing group."

This limits how repeats are able to be used within the survey. I have several surveys that incorporate nested group and repeats.

Is there a way to get a repeat to be the same width as the parent group (i.e., a parent group with w4 and repeat w4)? I attempted a variety of different iterations but was unable to recreate my survey in 3.13.

Attached are screenshots from v3.12 and v3.13. I need the repeat "Update Person Information" to be the same with as the whole screen (w4).  Has anyone else had similar issues or have any solutions?

Hi @AndrewPadilla,

It is possible to resolve the layout issues you see with a few simple changes to the xlsx file. For the page group, you need to set it to w1, as that way the nested repeat in that group will take up the entire width of 1 column (which is the default). For the other questions in the page not the repeat, you need to put them inside a nested group where you set the correct number of columns on that group, say w2 or w4, and therefore the quesitons in that group will be divided into those columns depending on their w setting. The same applies inside the repeat, use a nested group inside it to set a different width and column count to fit the questions into.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Phil.
