Having trouble publishing a basic survey

Hello all,
I've been reading threads all day about how to use XLS forms and Survey123 Connect. I work for an institution where we are hoping to survey members of churches. The form I created in Survey123 Connect has been stuck at "updating service details" for hours as I try to publish it. It doesn't seem to be moving. Can someone please help?

So far, I've checked my field names, labels, lists, edited cells that had spaces or blanks... I've also tried re-copying and pasting (values only!) into a separate form as well to no avail. It also won't publish. The same problem happens every single time I've tried. I even tried creating a separate 2 question survey (that I hoped I could update after first publication) but even that won't publish for me. I've read so many threads and there seems to be answers for others that have worked, but nothing has worked for me. I have Professional Plus as my license with my organization, so it's not an issue with that either.

Thank you,

Joycelin

In connect when you make changes to your xlsx are there any warnings? Also, before you publish did you "Analyze" the xlsx form?

If not you should run that and address as many of the items as possible.

Have you been able to publish any surveys?  You should try and publish a very simple xlsx form with like one or two text questions to see if that goes through.

If none of those work you could always share your xlsx form, that will help with troubleshooting further.

I have a few small things noted when I go through with analyze before publishing. They are small things, like notes about my survey note fields, but nothing that will warrant an issue. Some of it is also about bolding, italics, etc. I had one survey working but it broke shortly after publishing. I cannot view it on the web at all now. I tried publishing a two-question form separately but it also did not work.

Try fixing the online Feature Layer to match the sheet first, then publish into it, rather than trying to update the online layer from the sheet,

Connect it says it will update the online Service items, but it doesn't and gets stuck just spinning.

The Feature Layer Attributes need to be there first in that online layer and match the excel sheet's data, types, and lists.

It's most probably that your survey form name, or survey questions, have words or characters that are causing issues with the service getting created in ArcGIS Online. It will be very difficult to troubleshoot without either of those two things.

What's your survey form name?

Can you please share the XLSForm?
