Is it possible to filter a geospatial search() list using the extent of a map from a previous survey question?

Here's what I'm attempting to do:

We're doing a sewer lining project and I want to take a feature service that we have and pull the asset id's from it. It's a pretty long list though and I need the inspectors to be able to select multiple asset id's . I was hoping to have them do it in one question rather than using a repeat. One way that I can think which makes sense would be to filter the asset id's that would populate the search() list using the extent of a map.

So the process would essential be this: 1) The user zooms and pans the map to contain the sewer mains that they want to select 2) User goes to the second question after setting the map and then selects the asset id's from the short list of mains

I'm also open to other ideas for this if anyone's done something similar.

On the backend I'm hoping for either a list of asset ids or take all the selected asset ids and create a shapefile from it.

Nevermind, I just needed to be a little more persistent and stop trying to overcomplicate the problem.

This does exactly what I was looking to do.
