Error exporting data

I am running into a strange issue where the survey data failed to export:

Here're details and what we've been trying:

  • The survey form was published to AGOL
  • User's AGOL account, role, permission, group membership are all correct and the same as other folks who are able to export data.
  • Tried Chrome, FireFox, Edge but all got the same "Filed to export" error. There is no details when clicking "Show details", only shows "Error".
  • Monitored the network status and saw 200 response code. 
  • Tried with and without the vpn but it didn't make any difference. 
  • Tried several different machines.
  • Sometimes the export function works and downloads the data (csv, excel, shp, etc.), but 99% of the time it just shows "Filed to export". 
  • Asked other members within the same group but didn't run into any errors.

At this point, I don't know what to tell the user.

Have you in any way modified the layer in ArcGSIS Online? Including renaming, moving, changing the folder or folder name, changing ownership of or otherwise adjusting the settings?

Do you get this for other surveys or users or just this one specifically?

Can you export the data directly from ArcGIS Online?

No, I didn't test renaming, moving the hosted layers on AGOL because it's the production data and I'm not the owner of the layer.  

The user has trouble exporting all surveys published this year but he was able to export survey data from previous years.  The strange part is that when he tried exporting survey data from this year, he has to try many times (like 20 ~ 30 times) in order to get one successful attempt.  I asked for his AGOL log in and tried on my end but I don't have trouble exporting data.  Probably his workstation or internet settings that cause the issue.

I was having the same issue.  I found that it wasn't enough to allow the survey results to be exported; I also needed to check "Allow others to export to different formats." at the bottom of the settings for the feature layer itself.

My issue is a little different. We have checked the "allow others to export to different formats" option. I have the user's log in and I am able to run the "Export" on my end, with and within vpn, on different machines, using different browsers and I don't see any "Error" message. I can also use my own log in to export but some other built-in account to export, but for some reason, the user who has trouble exporting is still cannot export using his own log in (I tested successfully using his login on my end), and he have tried all the workstations in the office... I feel like it's a security restriction on the network but I'm not sure.

We are experiencing this too in ArcGIS Online -- did anybody find a solution? We've ended up back at "I feel like it's a security restriction on the network but I'm not sure" as well, but have ruled that out by having the user try at home and the error remains.
