I am using survey 123 connect to publish my survey. When I change the questions to "read-only" the white input box disappears. Has anyone encountered this issue? How can I resolve this?

Please see the attachement, you'll notice the box is missing from the first three questions.

Nope. No greyed out box. Honestly, I also wish it was there as that would just look nicer.

... all that said, I put a little more thought into this, and may actually have a solution/workaround!

Use a multiline text field, set it to readonly, and specify a height:

Not an issue. That is expected behaviour.

The "white box" is still there. If you add something to the [calculate] or [default] field, you will see it appears where the text input normally is.

And "yes", it is normal for different input to handle "read-only" differently. E.g., [Text] inputs will remove the input field, while [select_one] will still show the input field but be greyed out. No way change that behaviour, unfortunately.

I tried adding a default values but it still doesnt't make a difference. I was hoping to see a greyed out box but it just disappears.

haha that's great. It's funny cause I did play with the multiline option but wasn't sure about the height settings. Good to know and thank you!
