When designing a survey in Survey123 Connect, it would be helpful to be able to comment out rows in the XLSForm so that they are not processed.
Sometimes I want to comment one or more rows because something is wrong in those rows, which is preventing the survey from rendering in Connect. So I want to hide those rows from being processed, so that I can see how everything else in the XLSForm is looking.
Another use case is to paste in some rows from another XLSForm that I want to use as models for building new rows in the current XLSForm. I don't want those pasted rows processed, however, I want them there as a reference adjancent to the rows I am working on.
Yes, please!
For added context, I'm working on a form with 100+ questions right now and I'd love to just avoid the ones I'm not actively working on.
I'm delighted to see that others are also seeking this. It would be amazing to be able to comment out rows both for purposes of troubleshooting and for including pseudocode (pseudoscript, I suppose?) to help identify what the survey is doing. In my organization in particular, there can be an ebb and flow to who works on which surveys; it would be hugely helpful if xlsforms could be more self-explanatory than just "here, figure it out", or having to maintain a separate explanatory document.
Could there be a question type that accomplishes this? "Comment line" or something?
