Hello everyone,

I just joined the platform with the aim of creating in-gallery interactives for our art museum. I was wondering if there is a way to trigger map media actions without the use of a button. Ideally, I would want the map to zoom in and out on certain locations automatically as the user is scrolling sidebar text into view. In my head, it looks very similar to the way that the "guided map tour" works.

The animation of this NYT's article is what we're trying to emulate. Our aim would be to have an image of a work of art and have it zoom in and out of specific areas as the user scrolls...

Thanks very much for your help!

You sure can create the experience you are looking for. It's a complementary capability to map/media actions that we call "map choreography," and you can read all about it here...

Choreograph your maps with ArcGIS StoryMaps

There are a bunch of stories that use this technique you can browse for inspiration in our gallery...
