In an attempt to resolve a Tableau sizing issue found when embedding Tableau dashboards in stories, our third party embed provider has disabled the ability to embed new Tableau items. We recognize this is an unexpected shift in functionality, and apologize for any effect this may have on your current content. This is a change across all partners utilizing this embed provider, including ArcGIS StoryMaps.
We recommend you do not edit or delete and re-add current Tableau dashboards that are already in your stories, briefings, and collections until this sizing issue is resolved and the Tableau functionality is enabled again.
If you have already edited a Tableau dashboard, or need to embed a new one, we recommend you add a screenshot of the dashboard as an image and provide a hyperlink in the caption to so readers can open the full version in a new tab while this issue is investigated.
We will continue to add to this post with any updates we receive on Tableau's integration and expected embed behavior.
September 19, 2024 update:
We've been working with our third party embed provider, and have been able to allow more appropriate sizing for Tableau embeds that are added as inline embeds. Feel free to try out the embed with a test block/story. Compare the old embed to the new one and decide if you want to update the embed to use the new sizing before replacing the old embed. If you edit your existing embed and don't like the new formatting, you won't be able to revert to the previous formatting.
Immersive embeds are still experiencing this sizing issue for Tableau embeds. We are still collaborating with our third party embed provider to improve the formatting of these embeds, but for now we still recommend you do not edit or delete and re-add current Tableau dashboards that are within immersive blocks.
We'll continue to update here with any changes to expected behavior as we receive them.
