When attempting to publish a StoryMap, I am getting an error message that says "Some of your story content could not be checked for issues" followed by "There was a problem publishing your story".

I am the admin for our account, and the author has run through the following troubleshooting steps:

  • re-uploaded all media from their device
  • verified all links in StoryMap are https://
  • adjusted sharing permissions for all content and StoryMap to reflect "organization"

From what I can tell, there should be nothing preventing the publishing of the product, but every time we try (both from his user account and my admin account) we get the same error messages. Does anybody have a suggestion as to what may be going on?

@CarterKelly -- I'm sorry you are running into this issue when publishing. Here are a few things you can check:

  • Are there any broken layers in any of the maps/scenes in the story?
  • Any premium content layers?
  • Is there any content from other organizations in the story that even an admin in your own org might not have permissions to share?
  • Are there any layers (especially secure services) added directly to a map or scene by URL rather than adding the layer item (see this article for details about why that's not a best practice).

If you can't share you story with everyone, we unfortunately aren't able to help much more here on the Esri Community. If that's the case, please contact Esri Technical Support and they will be happy to help you troubleshoot this issue.
