Sidecar/slideshow floating panel background transparency on mobile devices

Is there any reason why the transparent background appearance of floating panels is not honored on mobile devices?

Transparency is only working on tablets in horizontal view. Is there anything we should toggle to make this behaviour change?

Hi @AGP -- This is the currently expected behavior. It's done to ensure the legibility of the text despite the differences in how a sidecar looks on larger screens (desktop and tablet/landscape) vs. smaller screens (tablet/portrait and phone).

The panel text typically appears over one area of the background media on a large screen, but it appears over a different area of the media on smaller screens. So while the text may be readable over the portion of the background media where it appears on a larger screen, it's very likely that it's not readable over the same background on a small phone screen since the positioning and scaling changes so much between the media and panel text.

If you'd like to see a toggle added in a future release that would honor panel transparency on all screen sizes, please post an idea on the StoryMaps ideas board so we can track support for this enhancement request. Please be sure to include a screenshot or description of your story and how the media/text look so we can understand your use case and how this would be useful.
