Error when selecting Edit Map View

Hi there,

I am working with ArcGIS StoryMaps (not enterprise) with the updated from December 10, 2025. About half of the time when I go to edit a Map Media action button in a Sidecar pane, when selecting "Update current map appearance - Edit map view" (first image below), I get an error when it tries to load the map on the next page "Hmm... there seems to be an issue - There was a problem accessing this item. Please try again or contact your ArcGIS administrator" (second image below). Then, when I select "Go to StoryMaps content," it brings me back to all the StoryMaps My Content page, where I can choose to edit the StoryMap again.  As I said, this happens only about 50% of the time, and I have noticed the issue starting 12/12/25, which I believe is the first time I accessed StoryMaps since the 12/10/25 update, and continue to see the same issues today, 12/16/25. 

This is not an error that is breaking my StoryMap; however, it is an efficiency issue as I have to keep going through the same process multiple times until it sticks. Thanks!

@MattFountain - I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue. We haven't observed anything like what you describe, and we don't have any other similar reports from others at this time. This may indicate it is an issue with your network connection, browser, or computer.

Please contact Esri Support, and they can help troubleshoot what might be causing this issue for you.
