Hi!
I'm trying to add a few buttons to the main introduction and overview slide of my story that link to predefined bookmarks. These bookmarks are set by sections and navigations, but unfortunately, the option to add bookmarks is currently disabled. Why so?
Can anyone assist me with this? It seems like a straightforward issue to resolve...
Thanks,
Diana

Hi @DianaLeppsoo , the only way to have those navigation links to different sections of the story is using headings, or slides if you are in a briefing. When you create a heading, it automatically creates a link that you can link when you highlight text and add a link from a heading (like in the screenshot above). That link also appears on a published story when you hover your cursor next to the heading:
You could then use that copied section link within another story or resource, so when it's clicked, the story is opened to that specific heading/section.

Hi @DianaLeppsoo , can you clarify what element you are adding to the story where you're looking to add a bookmark? Are you referring to bookmarks coming from a map or web app that is within a story? Or is this question more in reference to a hyperlink added to a story that when clicked, jumps to another part of the story? If it is the second case, I would note that hyperlinks to headings are only available once headings have been added. Then, that Heading option will become enabled:

Hi! @AbbyE_Esri
I may not have explained my issue clearly before. Internal navigation within my Story Map is working fine.
What I’m really looking for is an external navigation option that allows me to link directly to different sections of my story. Similar to the functionality available in Map Journal, but since Map Journal is being retired soon, I’m exploring the possibilities with Story Maps.
Is there a way to generate unique URLs for specific sections or any other similar options?
Greetings!
Diana

Supper! Exactly what I needed. Searched this function everywhere except there.
Thanks a lot!
