It'd be great to have another option for the date portion of a StoryMap's title block - in this case, for the date of a presentation. That is, a "hard-wired" date.

For instance, I could choose "date last edited", "none", or "date of creation of SM". But I wanted another date altogether (without having to edit it on the morning of my presentation).

This is something we could add in the future. We'll monitor this idea for kudos to see if others are also interested in having this option.

As a workaround, if you need to do this now, you could set the date to "none" and edit the Author name field to add your own date there (either in place of the author name or in addition to it). For example...

Mark Twain - Jun 9, 2023

Thanks Owen for your notes and thoughts.

You're absolutely right about that workaround. That also provides the possibility in other date formats. For example...

Mark Twain - 12 June 2023

Changing the story language in the settings will also automatically adjust the date format for different locales.

Hi David,

Were you able to add a specific date, and if so, do you have a script that you used?  I have a map tour and I want to display the last edit date of the data.  Or do you know if you can add the Last Edit Date to each map tour point?

Thanks for any help or support!

Mike

Thanks Owen for your "Changing the story language in the settings" note - I'll try this next time I create/edit a StoryMap, just to "test this idea". I also very much like your "edit the Author" idea.

And Mike, re "displaying the last edit date of the data", I don't think there is an automatic manner to do this; however, Owen's idea to "edit the Author name field", above, could certainly work for you! Best

It would also be helpful to make the date less specific. We were hoping to change a date to simply "October 2023" instead of the exact release date.
