Locate Region Tool in ArcMap 10.8 running infinitely
Hello GIS community,
I am having trouble with the locate region tool. I am using ArcMap 10.8. I have spatial analyst and 3D analyst license and I have been working in office so there is no VPN issue.
I am doing a suitability analysis for green infrastructures. I have generated a suitability map (30x30). This file is not a big raster file. When I use the Locate Region tool it keeps on going forever with out giving any output. I have tried letting it run for almost about 4 hours and it still does not give me an output. Below is a screenshot of the values I input in the tool. I have only changed the total area, number of regions, and region maximum area. Everything else is default.
Initially I thought there might be some issue with my suitability map so I tried running the same tool in ArcGIS Pro 2.8 with the same values. And it works perfectly fine! it give me an output in about 1 to 2 minutes. I do not understand why the same tool is running infinity in ArcMap 10.8 but works perfectly fine in ArcGIS Pro.
