How can I calculate the max. and avg. slope length of a terrain unit

Hi there,

I have used a TIN to classify an area into terrain units by overlaying ridges and channels. How can I now calculate the maximum slope length (so from the highest to the lowest point) and also the average length (from ridge to channel)?
