Hello,

I am trying to calculate straight line distances from a raster layer but i keep getting errors.
In the spatial analyst toolbox, i clicked Spatial analyst>Distance>straight line.

When i click ok i get an error message:

ERROR 010328: Syntax error at near symbol NEW-LINE
ERROR 010267: Syntax error in parsing grid expression

I've been have been having this error for a week or so and i don't see a way out.
Some people suggested to me that i had to remove spacings from file directories but that didn't help me solve the issue.

Please, any tip would be welcome.

Thank you

detailed specifics are needed..aka source files...destination location and anything else you can provide...looks like a user error so far since I can't find any NIM's relating to this issue so far

The file is located in C:\ArcGIS\GIS__Introduction\8_Raster_Analysis\8_Raster_analysis\house

The output raster is actually temporary but it doesn't work either when i specify a path.

Hope this would enlighten you.

For future reference: It looks like there's a restriction on the path length with spatial analyst.  Use a shorter or temporary path name, e.g. C:\GIStemp.

I had these same errors and this fixed it.

Edit:  also select the features of interest prior to executing the command
