Hi there-

We're loving the GIS Request management solution. One area that would be great to have is a place for the user to keep notes and add internal task list to help the user organize the request. This would allow the user not to have a separate tracking program per request to help complete the request.

@BrettRosso Thanks for submitting your idea!
I would be interested in speaking with you about your experience with the solution and the pain point you have identified.  Will you DM me if you are interested in a chat?

Hello @BrettRosso ,

Are you requesting an area for GIS staff or end users to add notes? My team is getting ready to deploy GIS Request Management. I am glad to see other organizations posting notes about this solutions.

If your request is for the requester / customer to add notes, that could be an interesting capability. I have not been able to find a section for that.

There is a spot in the GIS Activities dashboard for GIS staff to add Comments / notes. Screenshot below from the built-in Embedded Content widget in the GIS Activities dashboard.

This solution has potential, but it has very limited notification functionality out-of-the-box. Best of luck with the new notes functionality.

Thank you,

Dropping a thought reminder here - I have actually been thinking on this for a few months, and I had been debating between seeing if I could make tasks or subtasks as a related table, or going up and linking projects to tasks.  I've been looking at this going in the other direction too, wondering if an initiative could have multiple projects, which could have multiple tasks that could be assigned to various people too.

My thoughts were that I could link this to the initiative dashboard that was presented at the GIS Managers summit in 2023ish and flesh out the way it shows how projects and initiatives support goals in the dashboard.

Hi @BrandiRank22 !

Thanks for rejuvinating this conversation!  The idea of "tasks" is one of the top requested enhancements for the GIS Request Management Solution.  As we evaluate the Solution for a Version 2, this capability is being heavily considered.
