Introducing ArcGIS Solutions Diagrams

Over the next year, we have several updates in store for the ArcGIS Solutions app.  Our goal is to simplify, and enrich, the deployment of ArcGIS Solutions so every user can benefit from their investment in ArcGIS.

This February, we’ll bring an exciting new addition to the My Solutions tab:  solution diagrams.  The new solution diagrams offer a comprehensive view of each ArcGIS item contained in a solution and helps you quickly understand dependencies between items. 

We look forward to your feedback and ideas you have for the ArcGIS Solutions app in the future. 

A solution diagram can be accessed from the My Solutions tab.

This is excellent news. We have deployed a few Solutions and understanding the various connections based on the file and group names has been a challenge, with the descriptions blending into each other. And some solutions use different naming conventions from each other, so this causes confusion, especially for those who are new to ArcGIS.

@ScottOppmann, the View diagram is wonderful, it's already saved me time learning a new solution I deployed and knowing where to go and tweak things.

I've been hoping for this type of thing for any map or app that users create in AGOL or ArcGIS Enterprise as well. Think that could be a thing?

@GrantHopkins1 - We have been working with the ArcGIS development team to introduce similar capabilities on all ArcGIS items.  You could then see dependencies across items you create in your AGOL organization or ArcGIS Enterprise portal.   No firm release date yet, but it's coming.

@GrantHopkins1   GeoJobe has a "View Item Dependencies" tool in their free version of Admin Tools for ArcGIS Online. You can select an item or items and see what it is using and what is using it. Pretty nifty.
