If I didn't got an iOS device, but wondering to experience the ArcGIS for iPhone application, is there any way to run it in a simulator? BTW, I have a MAC with iPhone sdk 4.01 installed.

You do not need an iOS device in order to code and simulate applications developed with the ESRI iOS SDK.
You will however need to install the ESRI iOS SDK.

Yes, you can run ArcGIS for iOS application in Simulator. You can try running sample application (installed at User\Library\SDKs\Samples).

Hello,
is it really possible to run the .ipa file (downloaded via iTunes) with the simulator? How can I do that?
Thanks,

No, you cannot run the app you downloaded from the App Store in a simulator.

Only the apps your are actively developing can be run in a simulator. You would need to build the source code for this app in XCode and then run it in the simulator. Once you make an application binary (.ipa) out of it, you can only run it on a device.
