Experience Builder – Error when changing target Event Layer in "Add Line Event" widget triggered by "Search by Route"

Hi everyone,

We’ve built a Roads and Highways network in ArcGIS Pro 3.3 and published it to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3. Using the Esri-provided template, we configured an Experience Builder app.

Here’s the issue we’re encountering:

The "Search by Route" tool works properly and identifies the route as expected.

The action on this widget is configured to allow "Add Line Event" (with From and To measures).

Everything works fine until we try to change the target Event layer within the Add Line Event widget. When we do, we receive the following error message:

"Cannot read properties of null (reading 'length')"

Interestingly, when we use the "Add Line Event" widget directly (not triggered from Search by Route), we can select any event layer without issue.

Has anyone else encountered this behavior?

Is this a known bug or limitation when using the Add Line Event widget as an action?

Could there be a configuration or parameter missing in the Search by Route → Add Line Event interaction?

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

We tested in the same scenario of a Roads and Highways network deployed in ArcGIS Pro 3.3, published on ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3, and edited through a web experience developed in Experience Builder. We observed the same error when trying to change the target Event Layer in the Add Line Event tool that was launched from the Search by Route tool.
However, if we add a line event following the same steps without changing the target Event Layer the first time, we were able to change the target Event Layer the second time around.
We will be following this post to see what solutions or workarounds are found.

Thank you.
