Can I use a SQL Server function in REST Query where parameter?

I'm considering defining Scalar-valued functions in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database that hosts my spatial data.  I'd like to use these function in my where parameter through the REST query endpoint.  Is this possible?

I am pretty postive this is a no. You can create a view and add that to your MapService if this helps. Either way, try and find out for sure.
