Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to add WMTS service that use Webp as the image format to ArcGIS Pro?

I can add the service to MapViewer with no problem(using add a tile layer) ,but unable to add it to ArcGIS Pro.

Hi @xingchenc

Are you able to add the service to ArcGIS Online Map Viewer as a WMTS item? (As opposed to as a tile layer)

We already have an enhancement request for this specific functionality which is in review internally at present. This is recorded as ENH-000159377.

I hope this is helpful!

Hi @PeterHodkinson

This webp format service can only be added as a tile layer, see the image below:

If I try to add it as a WMTS service, the following error message will appear:

Please suggest!

Hi @xingchenc looking at the URL you're using, it looks like this service may be a valid Tile Layer. However, I'm not sure that this is a valid WMTS service, which may be why ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro are unable to add it when the WMTS format is selected.

Are you able to supply a URL for the WMTS capabilities document for this service? This is usually formatted as https://<service_url>?request=getcapabilities&service=wmts

For instance here is the capabilities document for a sample Esri WMTS service: https://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/WorldTimeZones/MapServer/WMTS?request=getcapabilities&service=wmts
