I'm trying to symbolize a layer based on a double field that has its number format set to percentage, but I keep getting an error, which also locks up the pane. Is symbolizing by a percentage field a limitation of the unclassed colors symbology method? It happens every time I try one of my percentage fields - seems to be the only common denominator. I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be this way or if I'm missing something. I suppose I could create another field, change the format, or reuse the Arcade expression that I used to calculate the field in the first place in the symbology, but I'd prefer to not do any of those things.
I have a DOUBLE field formatted as a percentage in the Fields Designer and symbolized using Unclassed Colors. I do not have the "requested operation could not be completed" error message that you see. One thing that catches my eye in your graphic is your lower lable is 3,900 while my upper/lower labels range from 0.7 to 0.98. Perhaps the 3,900 is the issue???
Hey @Robert_LeClair - thanks for the tip. The 3,900 is stuck there from the field I had previously selected, a double numeric field.
It seems to retain the range of whatever was selected last, and I should note that it is not modifiable. The entire pane is grayed out whenever I try to select my percent field. I have to switch away from unclassed colors to get it unstuck.
Strangely, loading the exact same expression used to calculate the field (rather than selecting the pre-calculated field) works just fine.
