Using attribute as symbology in ArcGIS Pro

Hi everyone,

I've been trying for the past few days to create a map with clear labels that show a number in the middle of them, like in the picture below. In that picture, I had to use two separate shapefiles; the top one has no symbology and just labels that display the attribute field I want (the numbers), and the bottom shapefile just has the yellow box as symbology. While this worked well enough for the map, it doesn't show up in the legend correctly, because the labels do not show up. Instead, the legend is just full of yellow boxes with no number inside. Is there any way to remedy this? It seems like you can't show labels in a legend, and I can't get the symbology to include numbers from the field I want.  I'm currently resorting to converting the legend to graphics and moving things around manually, but wondered if there was an easier way to do this.

Thank you very much!

In the Symbol Properties tab, Layers subtab, look in the Form dropdown.

Click the menu button in the upper right and enable symbol property connections.

Now you can set the text marker (select in the Element dropdown) to a field value.

And you can adjust the shape marker as desired. Again, select that marker in the Element dropdown.

I set this to the OBJECTID for demo purposes, but you can apply your desired field as easily.

Hi,

I'm have a similar question and you mybe can help me.

I'm trying to do a point symbology <Unique Values> based on an table attribute, and make a sequencial numbering.

The problem is that in the legend the symbol doesn't reflet the symbol in the map.

Image below.

Is there a way to do that?

Thank you,
