Understanding Sync and Offline Maps with ArcGIS Pro

Hi all, I'm setting up some services for offline use with ArcGIS Pro. Most of our end users are on 3.4 if that makes a difference.

We use branch versioned services through a federated portal server/site. We are on 11.3

To prepare the data and understand the workflow I've been using these references-

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.5/help/data/geodatabases/overview/prepare-feature-layer-data-for...

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/3.4/help/projects/take-a-map-offline.htm

Our use case is a mix of editable services with a few that are view only for reference. The documentation has answered most of my questions but I'm a little uncertain about a few things.

  1. It seems like the download map process only works correctly if the services in the map are pointed to the default(parent) version. If they are pointed to a child version of default, download map 'completes' but the services are still looking at server. Is this expected behavior?
  2. Also, when taking a map offline mobile gdbs are created for the temporary offline features. When the map is removed, these are deleted also which is nice. But I've had a few mobile gdbs that never deleted themselves. Why would that be the case? I probably should have been paying better attention during my testing here.
  3. Since we use branch versioning, the only option we have for sync is to create a new version for each downloaded map. Will this ever change in the future? Having a bunch of temp versions listed together can be a bit confusing for our end users. Obviously we are setting up a workflow so they post and then delete these as they go along so its not a huge deal, just wondering.
  4. Anyone using attachment tables with offline editing? We have a few but they are not populated yet. And when the services were originally published we didnt include the tables, so I'm assuming we'll need to republish if we want to take the tables offline as well.

Thanks!
