Hi Talents,
I went to ArcGIS Pro->Catalog ->Portal->ArcGIS Online,
and found some Web Scene items.
I right clicked them and chose "Add and Open",
But the error message below kept popping out as below
"Open Web Map
Unable to open web map. External component has thrown an exception."
Did anyone know how to fix this?
Many thx in advance.
Would suggest signing out of ArcGIS Online in ArcGIS Pro, restarting ArcGIS Pro and then signing in again.
If that doesn't work, what version of ArcGIS Pro? Can you open other web scenes? Try creating a new, blank scene in ArcGIS Online and then opening it in ArcGIS Pro.

I'm running ArcGIS Pro 3.0.3. Yes, I can open scenes but not from AGOL or scenes from Portal.
Same issue here. Running Pro 3.0.3. Can't open any Scenes from AGOL, from neither my org nor the Atlas.
Tried restarting and it didn't work. Webmaps do work.
I also have the same issue. using Pro 3.03
---------------------------
Open Web Map ..> Web Scene
---------------------------
Unable to open web map.External component has thrown an exception.
---------------------------
_OK
---------------------------
Webmaps no issue
But a Web Scene share from Pro 3.03 can be added from the portal into Pro again.
Have you solved this issue, I am having the same issue! I was able to open for one second, then suddenly raise th error.... Is this a bug or local env issue did you figure it out?
I have opened a ticket with Esri Support #03250986 @ESRISupport
Same issue for me in ArcGIS Pro 2.9.10. Can't open web scenes in Living Atlas without getting the error mentioned in this issue's description.
