two field groups sharing the same attribute

Hello all. We are currently upgrading our esri/arcgis versions and in arcgis 3.5 there is a warning message regarding contingent values.

The message states "contingent attribute validation was not performed because one or more field groups contained fields with multiple values"

There is no more context to the message and I am still allowed to edit the feature. This is on the Electric Device feature class (we are using utility network) and in our current production version (arcgis 2.9) there is no warning or error.

Does anyone have any more detail on that message? The only thing I can relate it to is that we have two field groups which both contain the Manufacturer attribute. Could that be the cause? I could likely accomplish the same goal by removing one field group if that is the cause. tia

Hi @joecastellana Thanks for the question.  With ArcGIS Pro 3.0 we added the ability in the Attributes pane to bulk update Contingent Attribute values.  Prior to ArcGIS Pro 3.0, if you were bulk updating features, Contingent Attribute dropdowns were not available and the Field Domain was shown.  With this update, the Field Domain dropdown is not shown and the Contingent Attribute dropdown is shown.  The message is an informational message letting the editor know that if there is any invalid combinations per the Contingent Attribute schema, fields are not color coded and there is no warning/error message guiding editor to fix the attributes.

If you bulk update attributes and specific values vary, you will see 'Different Values' in the field.  These are the cases that Contingent Attribute validation is not done.  To confirm edits are valid, highlight one selected feature in the Attributes pane treenode.
