I am new to using the time enable feature in Pro so please excuse my noobism. I have a mixture of feature services and feature classes all with date/time data in an ArcPro project. Is there any way to time enable only some of the datasets - i.e. I have 2 feature services that I want to be time enabled, but not one of the feature classes. I need that to display all of the data beneath the time enabled feature service layers in order to conduct analysis and editing. I'm on Pro version 3.5.2.
@Michele You can enable time for each layer in your project. Setting layer properties for Feature Services will depend on the published capabilities.
Set layer properties > Set time properties on data
Hi Ayan,
Thank you for the info. All of the filter using time options are grayed out on my layers, so I guess I have to contact the person who published the dataset and see if they can change them so this is editable. Then I'll be able to determine if this helps with what I need to do
@AyanPalit In the screenshot you attached, is that layer an actual feature service layer or the underlying db? I asked for the time enabling properties to be updated on the serviced layer, and they republished the service, but when I try to access the time menu from a feature service layer that I brought into ArcPro it tells me "Time properties cannot be edited when accessed through a service" and everything is still grayed out. That statement makes me think you can't edit the time filter options in a serviced layer.
Looks like you are primarily working with feature service that contains layers from an enterprise GDB and options are grayed out as:
The help doc Set time properties on data describes setting the time on the GDB layer. I am hoping your GIS admin used this option to set the time in the Pro map and then republished the service. Once the service is setup correctly, you should see layer > time properties when time enabled service is added to Pro map.
