Hello,
I’m having an issue with the Text element in the Layout view in ArcGIS Pro. When I add place names or labels to the map layout, a red squiggly error line appears under the name—as if it’s being flagged as a spelling mistake.
I’ve already selected "Ignore All" from the spell check menu, but the red line still appears.
Is there a way to completely disable spell check or remove that error line from the text element?
Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi!
From dynamic option, select map fram and write this under text view as shown below:
<dyn type="mapFrame" name="Map Frame"/> Nikhal
There might be some problem with the combination of dynamic and static text.
From this option, it works well:
Good luck.
I believe if you right-click the identified word you can add it to Pro’s list of “correct” words with the custom dictionary option.
Hi Eugene
Thanks, even when I add this option it doesn't work 😞
You may have already tried this but just incase, freshly open the aprx and then try to add the word to the custom dictionary. Once saved, close the aprx and reopen and check the status.
If this doesn’t work, don’t stress too much. The redline once have any negative effect on the way the word appears in the map.
Good luck.

Hi Hajar!
You're welcome.
Are you using Windows 11? We've been seeing some differences between Windows 10 and 11 with spellcheck.
Hi Aubrikinghorn
Yes, I am using Windows 11🤔
Thanks
You asked how to disable the spell check. This can be done in the Options dialog (Proofing tab).
For more information please see the help topic Set proofing options.
Hope this helps,
Tom
