Symbology Stretch Type dropped and custom statistics are replaced by system generated statistics.

Greetings,

I am working on a project in ArcGIS Pro with aerial imagery collections in GeoTIFF format. When the individual images were downloaded from a 3rd party site, the symbology was not consistent throughout the collection. I’m trying to assign a set of common custom statistics values to each image so they will all have the same Stretch Type and RGB Min/Max statistics values. However, I’ve encountered an issue with custom symbology where ArcGIS Pro drops the selected Minimum/Maximum Stretch Type and reset the custom statistics values I entered to the original system-generated statistics assigned when the Calculate Statistics tool was run. The issue exists with all the GeoTIFF images in the project.

Steps to repro:

  1. I downloaded several Ariel imagery GeoTiffs from the Maryland GIS portal and saved them to a local folder on the same machine where ArcGIS Pro is installed.
  2. From ArcGIS Pro -> open the Catalog pane -> browse to folders with GeoTiffs.
  3. RMB on GeoTIFF -> select Calculation Statistics from the RMB menu -> let the tool run so the raster GeoTIFF displays in the ArcGIS Pro Contents pane.
  4. I start from the ArcGIS Pro -> Catalog folder directory to load the images. I browse to the folder where the images are stored, select an image -> RMB, then select ‘Calculate Statistics from the menu.

1. Calculate Statistics.png

5. After Calculate Statistics is done, the GeoTIFF appears in the Contents file directory. I expand the file and select one of the RGB bands to open the Primary Symbology form. (Note that Symbology has the system-generated statistics populated).

2. System generated statistics.png

6. I change the Statistics from Dataset to Custom then enter the custom statistics values that should be common across all images.

3. Custom statistics.png

7. Everything looks good at this point, but if I take the focus off this file, then place focus back on the file, the Minimum/Maximum Stretch Type has been deleted, and the RGB bands with the custom statistics populated have been duplicated so there's 6 bands instead of 3.

8. If I repopulate the Stretch Type field with Minimum/Maximum, the custom statistics are replaced by the system-generated statistics.

5. Custom Statistics replaced by system generated statistics.png

This is incredibly frustrating. What am I missing in this workflow that's causing this issue?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!!
