Symbology classification in ArcGIS Pro vs. QGIS

Hi, need help please. How do we achieve the symbology / categories in ArcGIS like the one in QGIS. In QGIS the classes or categories has tick boxes wherein you can turn on and off whereas non in ArcGIS Pro. It woul d be easier to have this kind of facility. See image below: Black background is ArcGIS Pro and white background is QGIS.

hi @EACSGIS  - check out the comments on this post.  You should be able to right-click in the 'Value' or 'Label' columns (when configuring symbology) and choose "Remove".

Thank you @ToddW_stl.  However, the tick boxes would be more efficient, especially when working 'on the fly'.  You can tick ON or OFF and see what's underneath the features right away. It's especially useful when you have lots of classes (for example marine habitat classes) that you have to check against the satellite imagery underneath the feature.

Ah, I get it now.  If neither the Swipe nor Flicker tool are sufficient, maybe Display Filters would work for you?  I may take some time to set up initially, but then you can save the filters and import them later.  They're simple .exp text files containing the SQL query.  It that doesn't work, I'd suggest submitting a detailed post on the Ideas page (after searching for similar ideas first).

This is another handy tip, thank you. This is definitely useful as a workaround if not having the similar functionality as tick box ONN and OFF. I will search for more answers and do as you have suggested to post on the ideas page.

You can't, at least in the same way that QGIS implements this. In Pro, you could achieve the same functionality using a group layer. You would create multiple copies of your layer and use a layer definition query so that each copy only represents one of the possible symbol categories. Once you have all your needed symbol categories as individual layers, select them all, right-click, and chose the option to create a group layer.

It's absolutely not as efficient as in QGIS but it should achieve the same result.

Thank you for the reply @SteveCole.   Your are right, it's not as efficient as in the way QGIS functionality provides.  The tick boxes would be especially useful when analyzing various categories 'on the fly' within an area. For this this example, it is easy to turn the habitat layers ON or OFF within the marine area and determine whether the image classification carried out was accurate without the need of removing the class /es and then re-adding it again. I hope ESRI @JesseCloutier could consider this functionality ☺.
